Spring Catch Up

We went to California but the camera died and we took some lame pictures on Adam's camera phone which we now can't recover, so I'll use this post to leap forward in time... (The first two are videos--if you're reading this from an email, click them to forward to the original post and get youtube links going...)
Cascadia State Park--building Rainbow Castles (we collect a rainbow selection of stones and decorate with those, using witches hair for flags).

Claire was very excited to find a hygrocybe. Not edible but a very good specimen.
Sophie took a portrait of us.
On our way to California for Trees of Mystery.
At the Prehistoric Gardens before our camera died. We stayed at the Gold Beach Resort and had a fantastic time treasure hunting, meeting Paul, hiking, and digging in the sand.

Fairy Slipper orchid north of Mary's Peak.
Adam inspects a giant bracket fungus in the OSU Research Forest before falling down the mountain (don't worry--he landed in the blackberry bushes! Oh wait...).

 Super Hiker!

McDonald Forest with our friends the Parry Family.
Easter Sunday in a pretty new dress from Hooma and loving a tiny My Little Pony figure from a magic egg.

Claire refused to get ready for Church...

Note Claire making trouble in the background :)
 Claire LOVES Hannah.

 Sophie LOVES Makeup
Mobile Baby. We've never had a child crawl before (seriously--they both waited until they could simply walk) so we are enthralled with Eloise's tricks.

 Sporting Claire's sleeping hat.
Ready for a picnic lunch at the park. We often walk to the library or park this way--everything's about a mile from the house--very nice!
Getting ready for our Science School Campout. Science School is a homeschool preschool we do with our friends. I'm the science and math teacher.

Kalia, Karlee and Claire tell scary stories around the fire and eat oven s'mores at the party.
I won this water-bottle from a Facebook Culligan sweepstakes--it's my Major Award! XD
Did I mention Sophie LOVES Makeup?
Culligan asked us to send in a second water-bottle picture they could use in magazines.
Pacific Old Growth Trail--OSU Research Forest
 Purple Trillium variant--OSU Research Forest.

Claire gathers treasures into her precious Scooby Doo bucket. She's wild for the comeback show.
 Our butterflies hatched!
We called the Science School friends to come over and watch the chrysalises become butterflies. Claire gave them "Russian" names-- Troika, Peluca and Ograt. Sophie named hers Kiya and Amalyn after her best friends.

I really like the one Sophie took of you and Adam--having it taken at a different angle/perspective makes it much more artistic. I laughed about your major award but then I thought, I wish I could win something. Congratulations! Thanks again for posting pictures of the northwest and letting me live vicariously through you just a little.
